"They have shown great determination and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. It's fantastic to see the local community come together to support our young stars of the future, and we're thrilled to have been represented by such talented teams." - Darren Jenkinson - Chorley FC Community Foundation Chairman
Two schools from the Chorley area, St Gregorys and Buckshaw Primary, have made us all here at Chorley FC Community Foundation, and the town proud by representing Chorley FC in the National League Trust Under 11's Cup. The young footballers travelled to Oldham yesterday and gave it their all, showcasing their skills and passion for the sport.
The competition was tough, but both teams proved to be worthy contenders. St Gregorys and Buckshaw Primary finished 4th in their respective competitions, after putting up a brave fight and finishing second in their group stages.
The players, coaches, and supporters from both schools were ecstatic with the results, which reflect the dedication and hard work that has gone into preparing for this tournament. The players have been training tirelessly, and their commitment to the game has been truly inspiring.
"We're extremely proud of the young people” said Chorley FC Community Foundation Chairperson Darren Jenkinson. "They have shown great determination and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. It's fantastic to see the local community come together to support our young stars of the future, and we're thrilled to have been represented by such talented teams."
The National League Trust Under 11's Cup is a prestigious event that brings together some of the best young footballers in the country. It's a testament to the skill and talent of these young players that they were able to hold their own against such tough competition.
The success of St Gregorys and Buckshaw Primary is a great example of the spirit of Chorley, a town that is known for its passion for football and its commitment to supporting young football players. We look forward to seeing these players continue to develop and thrive on the field in the years to come.
Jacob and Thomas had the best time. They love football but both have found an even bigger love since attending here over the Easter and May half term. The coaches are all welcoming and really look after the children. Thank you! We will definitely be returning.
Routine is vital for the those living with Dementia among our group. We laugh a lot – and laughter is still the best medicine we can have! As my mother used to say, “Memories Last Longer Than Dreams” – and long may that continue!
“The pupils were very excited to take part in a football coaching session delivered by an actual football player from our local team, Chorley FC. The coach/player engaged the children well and they all had a thoroughly fun and enjoyable session.”
